Larissa De Jesús Negrón is a painter born in 1994 in Puerto Rico. Larissa began her studies in middle and high school specializing in art at Central High in Puerto Rico and continued her education at the Escuela de Artes Plásticas in Old San Juan, where she began to specialize in Drawing and Painting. After two years, she continued her studies at Hunter College in New York, where she earned her BFA degree with high honors in 2017.
Her work is stylistically varied. Neo-surrealist, her work is linked to the artist's strong interest in the subconscious and psychoanalysis. Existential themes such as the expectations of women in society, the vitality of nature, the use of humour as a coping mechanism and the power of storytelling as a tool for healing are present in her work.
