Joshua Lee Modina aka “SonLikesRice” is a Filipino artist based in Australia.
Studying at RMIT Melbourne and majoring in still life for most of his studies, he had a switch of style focusing more on a pop surreal style while also swinging the roots of realism, which we see in his more current bodies of work.
Joshua draws inspiration from his life experiences from both his birth place in the Philippines, and Australia where he currently lives. Exploring themes of adversity from cultural differences, he creates dream like scenes to convey a message of looking at the lighter side of life.
